Conceptualising and developing community-building events for postgraduate researchers (PGRs) at the University of Glasgow, including the annual 3 Minute Thesis competition.
Writing and editing regular blog posts for the UofG PGR Blog, including idea development, scheduling and design.
Fostering the growth of an online community of UofG PGRs through social media, including production of graphics to promote events and support the advertisement of opportunities (e.g. internships)
Providing regular email updates for PGRs by way of monthly round-ups
Coordinating engaging team building tasks for new PGRs at October and January Induction events
Supporting other members of the Researcher Development team during key events, including the This UofG PhD Life Symposium
Launch of UofG PGRs on Spotify and introduction of collaborative playlists for researchers.
Successful social media rebrand (Twitter and Instagram) to streamline communications and enhance engagement.
Enhanced engagement with the Love Letter to Your Thesis competition alongside a social media campaign, resulting in 4x the number of entries.
Recruitment of almost double the previous number of participants (72) for the annual 3 Minute Thesis competition, despite the event being run entirely online.
Coordination of the 3 Minute Thesis competition including 4 Heats and the Final, with a total virtual audience of over 300 PGRs, Academics and Professional Staff.
Consultation with individuals at other universities during the launch of their own blogs and virtual 3 Minute Thesis competition and sharing best practice.
Sucessful adaption of a number of regular PGR events to an online sphere, including a virtual campus treasure hunt during induction.
Writing (7) and editing (17) blog posts for the UofG PGR blog.
